Official support for grpc kotlin

Looking at the public grpc-kotlin repo it seems that the support is almost non existing, there is only one google eng maintaining the repo (thanks Louis Wasserman) and the last release (after a year without releases) was not even published to maven central due to credential issues.
The protoc grpc-kotlin plugin still does not support protobuf editions and there are several open issues in the repo.
Given that Kotlin is an officially supported language for protobuf and grpc (and promoted by Google for Android) is there a way to get more eng time working on properly supporting the library?
