Hi Everyone,

I'm happy to announce that starting from gRPC C# version 1.17.0 we have made generating C# sources from .proto files much easier by adding msbuild integration support into the Grpc.Tools nuget package. Please try out the feature and let us know your feedback. More info can be found in the blogpost and build integration documentation.

Thanks,

gRPC C# Team

The is very good news! I gave it a test run on some of my projects and its
working just fine, including imports and well-known .protos.

I haven't needed to use more advanced features yet.

I've sidled up to this in a handful of GitHub posts [1]: I would like .proto
codegen to be implicit for files in the current project's directory
structure by default when default items are enabled, like in the newer
SDK-based projects.
