Ramen, the Japanese comfort food that’s sweeping the nation, is coming to Gainesville. Local entrepreneurs Fred Brown and Bill Bryson have a passion for ramen and want to share their secret with Gainesville. Opening a restaurant, Crane Ramen, downtown at 16 SW 1^st Ave, the Crane will feature creative concoctions based on traditional ramen styles and recipes. But before the restaurant opens later this summer, The Crane will be hosting a pop-up at The Vine, 627 N Main St on Friday and Saturday June 27, 28 from 5-10pm. Chef Daniel Herget will be serving bowls of three types of ramen ($10) to introduce the products and restaurant concept to the community. Come get an early taste of what’s on the dining horizon in Gainesville.
