Pizza! Pizza! Pizza! Do you like the cheesy, saucey, doughy goodness that plays such a prominent role in many of our lives? Be it late night munchies, morning-after breakfast fare, or football feeding frenzy, this food is a glorious conqueror of American diets. Now is the time to exact some revenge and show the glistening slices who’s boss. Grow Radio presents a pizza eating contest on Saturday October 11, at 1pm at the station, 111 SW 3rd St. The event will be a fundraiser for the volunteer-run, non-profit, community internet radio station that broadcasts at www.growradio.org from their downtown location. The event will run from 1-4pm with an open house at the station where people can learn about Grow Radio and get involved. There will be performers playing songs on the back porch, including HR Gertner, Toph Brown, Betty Betty Barefoot, Douglas Blighton among others, and Grow DJs spinning tunes.

Entry fees for participants are $7 in advance online at http://growradio.wordpress.com/2014/10/01/grow-radio-pizza-eating-contest/ and $10 at the event

Contestants will eat as much pizza as they can in five minutes.

Awards will be presented for first, second and third place in the competition
