Hi Rudy,

Are there any plans to develop GrowlMail for Mountain Lion?

Thanks,
Scott

Getting it working on 10.8 amounted to 2 lines worth of code changes, I'm currently waiting for the 2.0 version of the Growl framework to make an actual release but I can push the changes up to github if you're comfortable building it yourself.

I'm missing it badly, if you do, I'll build it for myself. Glad to see you're on top of it!

I tried building GrowlMail from github and encountered first the problem that dsa_pub.pem seemed to be required. Copying this file from the disabled bundle to some place in the source worked to make it build.

Now it works by showing me the growl notification but it doesn't seem to use settings from Growl (App store 1.4 version) and the console says so
"1Mail[33679]: GrowlMail could not reach Growl, GrowlMail is sandboxed and does not have the ability to talk to Growl, contact the developer to resolve this"

I'm more or less just aiming at reporting these things and will resolve to wait for Growl 2 and new official GrowlMail.

GrowlMail will never talk to any version of Growl prior to 1.3 when run on 10.8.

But I have Growl 1.4. Or did you mean Growl 2.0 (whenever that gets released)?

I have 10.8.2 and Growl 2. But when I try to build from the git sources, after supplying a dsa_pub.pem and removing Sparkle.xcodeproj from the list of dependencies, I get a .mailbundle that Mail *still* says is incompatible.

Does anybody have a build that works?

that makes perfect sense, since the UUIDs that were committed are for up to 10.8.1.

The plan at this point is to not release an update for 10.6, to release one final update for 10.7 and to rewrite GrowlMail entirely for 10.8.

Now why didn't I think of that? :)

Thanks

if you run the GrowlMailUUIDPatcher available from the downloads page on google code hosting http://code.google.com/p/growlmail/downloads/list you should be able to patch the build you made.

Rudy, in the meantime could you please upload a patched version for 10.8 for those who missed it badly and cannot compile without instructions? TIA.

I would really appreciate if you could make one for 10.8.2 with Mail 6.2.
I bought Growl for growlmail (i know i didnt need it)and it turned out that growlmail doesn't support this version. XD

Can I ask a question since I haven't tried this plugin before?
Does this plugin make is possible for notifications showing up even if the mail app is quitted?

Thanks.
