Can't get GrowlMail 1.3.4 to talk to Growl 2.0.1, GrowlMail is enabled in Mail, yet still not connecting to Growl

in OS X I check the folder /Users/username/Library/Mail/Bundles/GrowlMail.mailbundle/Contents/Frameworks says version 1.3

Why Open the Web?

Despite the connecting purpose of the Web, it is not entirely open to all of
its users. When used correctly, HTML documents can be displayed across
platforms and devices. However, many devices are excluded access to Web
content.

If the framework says 1.3 then you still have old growlmail installed. Remove it manually and reinstall.

not there thats what it said in Growlmail file I listed 1.3.4,  /Users/username/Library/Mail/Bundles/GrowlMail.mailbundle/Contents/Frameworks says version 1.3  thats on the folder info (using OS X get info)

1.3.3 was in the disabled bundles (since the day 10.7.5 came out)

Seems that GrowlMail is not even talking to Growl, how do I check the framework used by GrowlMail

Can you expand on how to remove growlmail manually? I am having the
same problem as Charlie, have tried using the uninstaller download and
then re-installing, and it still isn't working. Can you list the steps
for uninstalling manually so I can give that a try instead?

Thanks,

Scott

Thanks Rudy.
The problem is fixed now with 1.3.5.
I only had a problem with the automatic update (I got twice an error at the end - GrowlMail could not be restarted and the plug-in had not been updated on the next restart of Mail.app).
I solved using your uninstaller (@Scott, you can find it on the project homepage, here the direct link) and manually installing the latest version and now it's working ok.

Bye.

Try downloading 1.3.5

I think in the 1.3.4 build the growlwork work got messed up

Same problem here. I stepped back to 1.3.3 with UUID-Patcher and it works now. Waiting for working release.
Greetings to all.

I was able to manually download and install 1.3.5 and GrowlMail is now
working again; thanks Rudy!

The auto-updater tried to install 1.3.5. several times but failed each
time.

I pulled 1.3.4 and uploaded 1.3.5, the only issue i'm aware of is one with Sparkle in which it doesn't actually succeed in updating.  This is a regression in the pkg installer pathway in Sparkle which i intend to submit a pull request on github to Andy and then hound him mercilessly until he integrates it.

Thanks,

Thanks, Rudy.  Once I got the memo that I needed to download 1.3.5 manually and install it, it all works fine.  It's a real charge to see that friendly "music video" Growl notification of my new mail, which I hadn't seen in months.  I hope you can quickly get the help needed to fix the auto-update issue.  Thanks again and Happy New Year!

I don't know what you mean by "manually download."  I have run the uninstall that was linked above and downloaded the GrowlMail installer, but GrowlMail is still not working.  I get new mail, but no notifications.  Hasn't worked since update to 10.7.5.  I'd like to just start over, but I thought that uninstalling would do that.  Any ideas?  I really miss my GrowlMail.

P.S. -- Do you need to have Growl installed for GrowlMail to work?  I do have it installed.  Could something there be interfering?

Thanks.

Growl does not need to be installed in order to notify, as of GrowlMail 1.3 it will display notifications itself on 10.7 when Growl isn't present and running. As of 1.3.4/1.3.5 it will post to notification center on 10.8.

what is likely happening in your case is the two values mail.app reads from its prefs file to know to load plugins are in a file that its not reading from.  1.3.6 should resolve this and a few other issues.
