Hey guys,

I was looking to pick up growltunes from the MAS, but I had a question
- does this throw a growl message every time itunes starts and stops
playing, or just when the track changes?

Or is this at least an option as an event?

Thanks,

-bw

Just when a track changes. What were you needing the launch notifications for?

Hi Chris,

Oh, not on launch.  I was saying (rather attempting to say) I would like a growl event for every time I play/pause iTunes.

So for example, I pause my music/podcast for a business call, get distracted at work for a while, then hit play after a bit.  I'd want growl to tell me what I'm "resuming" playing..

Does it have that capability?  Or does it only throw a growl notification when the track itself changes?

Whoops, just realized I replied to my parent post and you probably didn't get a notification on the conversation.  My bad.  *(:

Hi Chris,

Any hope for my request on the growl notifications on itunes pause/play?

Or do I have to call y'all arrogant jokers or be a TUAW editor to get a reply?

(note: totally kidding because that other guy was obviously out of line.  ha)

I was happy to purchase growl in the mac appstore after using it for free all these years and would happily do the same for growltunes if it supports these events..

Thanks,

-bw

I'm not opposed to them, it's more figuring out if we can do them. I can file a ticket on this or you can if you'd like.

Ugh, this google groups interface is horrible.  I just posted a reply but it seems to have been lost in the ether.  *\:

Anyway, that's great news.  I used to use an app called 'synergy' that did this, but it hasn't been updated in a long time and doesn't work too well anymore.

I'd not mind submitting a bug at all (esp since I'd be notified on updates), but I was only able to find this page: http://growl.info/reportabug.php which seems to say check out the faq, then search newsgroup, then post in the newsgroup.  I don't see a "step 4", unless I'm just plain missing it..

Ya, we're investigating other options for support than google groups. Google groups is great for easily making a mailing list, but they don't make it very easy to figure out that it's in fact a mailing list.

Which doesn't make a mailing list good for support either. Just finding the right thing for support going forward that can work with 3 applications or 20 applications and a large amount of user sis key. :)
