Make sure you are using the current version of the apps, and check the settings to see if you need to set them for Growl

Dropbox 1.6.0 is using an older framework 1.2.1  (seen via the growl version detective from the Growl website) apps need at least 1.2.2 of the framework, and need 2.0 at least to work right with Growl 2.0 (sandbox reasons, they will show a notification but the click to go to app will only work if they use the 2.0 framework)  So it might still not work for Dropbox until they update the framework they use

Check the apps settings and see if you have to enable the Growl Setting

Have you launched the apps since you installed Growl? Apps register with Growl if it's running when they initialize.

Hi,

I am trying to use Growl in 10.8.1 and 10.7.3 - but I can't get it to show applications in the list. Especially: Appigo Todo (Pro) and Dropbox. Tried reboots.

What am I doing wrong?

I see Dropbox in the list now. But not Appigo Todo. What I found out about that app is: It uses framework 1.3.1, it has Growl enabled, it shows Growl notifications - but it is not in the list. I manually updated the framework to 2.0 but nothing changed.

Appigo Todo ist a todo list that unfortunately has no mail-reminders so I had the idea to use Mailme from Growl to send a mail each time a reminder is fired. But as long as it is not in the list, I can't use Mailme.

Is there anything in Console about Appigo around the time?

Is Appigo in the Growl applications tab?

Console says:

26.11.12 16:41:56,837 Todo: Todo could not reach Growl, Todo is sandboxed and does not have the ability to talk to Growl, contact the developer to resolve this

And no: No Appigo Todo in the applications tab - this is my problem.

Do what that line says and contact the developer of Todo. Tell them to get in touch with us if they are running into problems. :)

Chris,

thanks a lot - I tried this already because I was pretty sure that it could be a Todo problem. And I forwarded the console message to Appigo. Wish me luck. And thanks again!
