Try quitting bartender and then seeing if you can reproduce the crash.

  • Version number in Growl's About tab: 2.0
  • Version number of Mac OS X in About this Mac (in the  [Apple] menu): 10.7.5, all current updates
  • Specific names of any applications you're trying to use with Growl: Delivery Status, Dropbox, Dterm, Echofon, Evernote, Flow, growlnotify, GrowlTunes, HandBrake, HardwareGrowler, Keka, TextWrangler, Transmission
  • Display style you're using (for notification-display issues): Bubbles

Description: Almost every time I wake my Mac (early '08 MBP) from sleep, I find that Growl has crashed and isn't showing notifications. This is immediately evident because Echofon, which includes the Growl framework, is showing notifications in the default style instead of my chosen style. I can start Growl from Applications or Spotlight and it starts and runs fine thereafter, but will likely crash again the next time I wake my Mac from sleep. This isn't 100%, but it's close enough that finding Growl running when the Mac wakes is a pleasant surprise - not routine.

I've attached the most recent crash log. There are others available if that will help.

I'm happy to help debug or try beta versions. Thanks.

With Bartender stopped, Growl was running when I tried twice today.

Bartender just pushed out an update, and I'm running a few more tests with it running.

Growl 2.0 crashed on startup, also using latest Bartender 0.9.13.

I'll try to reproduce the crash without Bartender, but wondering using this config also on two other macs without any problems...

Good news:

With Growl 2.0 and Bartender 0.9.13, and Growl not controlled by Bartender, the crashes are gone. Growl stays running as expected.
