Growlnotify not working on other computers

I have Growl ver 1.2.2 installed on a few computers. I can use growlnotify (ver 1.2.2) from another computer to open alerts on my computer, but using the same machine I cannot send alerts to others. I have them all set to listen on the network, and from what I can tell they are all set up the same way. Any suggestions?

If growlnotify is on the same machine, you don't need to use the networking bit really for that machine. That'd probably simplify things a little bit.
