Folks,

We have released the 1.3.1 SDK. The update to the SDK is available from our developer downloads section:

This update includes the following:

- MultiGrowl - Shows you how to load different versions of the framework based on OS X version. Useful for those who support 10.4/10.5.
- Mist respects the default registration list
- We now prefix GCDAsyncSocket. Those using the 1.3 framework should update to the 1.3.1 framework as soon as possible for this fix.
- Resolves an issue where if the hostname is not set. Those using the 1.3 framework should update to the 1.3.1 framework as soon as possible for this fix.

This page provides details each of these items:

I knew I was forgetting one thing. I've updated the website to point to GVD 1.2.1 and I'll send out a release note later today. Thanks for the reminder Raimondo.

I'm about to show my ignorance so I appreciate your patience.

I'm running Growl Version Detective and most of the applications I use are displaying as having framework 1.2.1.  I'm hesitant of going through and upgrading the framework using the tool so I thought I'd ask about success rates performing the framework upgrade in this manner versus waiting for the the application writers to upgrade to this new framework.  My thinking is that even though a framework is designed to be, for the most part, independent of the application and is just referenced by it, I'm wondering if there are custom calls and the like that could break the original software.

Again, I'm not a programmer so I do not have a great understanding of the nuances.

The applications I use the most are item2, Burn, Cyberduck, KisMAC.  All are the latest versions and all showing as using the 1.2.1 or 1.2.2 framework.

Appreciate any clarification on this before I close my eyes and hit the Big Red Button.

Thanks,

Matt

We put in a button to revert the framework in case of anything like you are concerned about. It is very unlikely, but still available. If an application that you update has problems right after updating, simply quit that application and click the button to revert back.

Also, I'm pretty sure the button is not red.

Thanks, Chris. Just what I was looking for.

I'll start upgrading the framework on my apps and post my results in
the discussion group for other Growl users.
