Prefpane when I start my iMac

Every time I start mij iMac with Mountain Lion latest version 10.8.2 the prefpane of Growl 2.0 is poppi g up, is that normal?
I don't like this a lot!

Is Growl in your startup items? If so, remove Growl from there and see if that helps.

Tryed that (once more) but the prefpane is still showing up when I start-up, even when I removed Growl from the start-up list.

I use Growl for over a year now so I don't have exactly a new account!

I mean a new user account on your computer. i.e. go make one and see what happens.

Not really, it is simply called "trouble-shooting." When you create a new user account, only certain, basic items are included. None of the possibly many third-party apps/extensions and other stuff you may have in your main account are added.
Therefore, if the new account displays normal, expected behavior, it means there is SOMETHING in your main account that is causing the problem. It is then just a matter of logically, methodically and perhaps slowly finding what that item may be.
Creating a new user account is a basic, well used trouble-shooting method and is extremely easy to do. You must remember that the developers of Growl cannot possible work with every conceivable hardware and software combination available to us users. Nor can they read our minds about what we may have installed on our hardware. Short of a direct connection to our machine while giving them complete remote control, they have to depend on simple, easily followed directions and suggestions for us to try.
Frankly, I am amazed at their patience and persistence in fixing problems from some of us whose abilities seem to be limited to knowing how to turn our Macs ON/OFF. Nor do many posters seem to consider attempting to search the archives for possible solutions to exactly the problem they describe. "Users" are a fickle and strange group, sometimes! LOL! ;-) The Google Search field is your friend, visit it often.
