Hi there,

I always wanted to help Growl community financially and yesterday just bought the version 1.3, although the new features are not so much but it is still worth it and it's one of the best
Apps on my Mac. Btw. now with the new version of Growl in Skype someone is typing or sends me a message growl does not send any notification more. I guess that it is because of the older version of Growl that Skype uses for the version 2.8.  I haven't tried it with Skype version 5.x but the point is that I just hate the UI of Skype 5.x . Now the question is: Is there any workaround to get Skype 2.8 working with  Growl?? Or I should just expect it from Skype team, that I don't think that they give any update for 2.8 more.

P.S. When a contacts comes/goes online/offline I see growl notifications.

Ya, you can drop the Growl 1.2.2 framework into the Skype application bundle contents (you'll have to dig around to do it) and it should work.

That said, I don't expect it to work long term when sandboxing hits the OS X world. But until then you can perform this workaround and get it to work probably.

Thanks Christopher for the quick and correct answer. It works great.
Hope that Skype's UI changes by that time ( vast use of sandboxing in OS X) so that I don't need these kind of workarounds.
I simply cannot stand the UI of Skype 5.x

Cheers.
