It should show up on your purchased applications tab in MacAppStore.app. If it doesn't its possible that you accidentally hid it, in which case you need to go to "View My Account" under the Store menu to get to the view that lets you unhide a hidden purchase.

I purchased the upgrade via the app store and accidentally uninstalled it.  When I go to the app store to redownload it, I don't have that option.  How do I reinstall growl?  Nothing I've tried has worked.

Let's see if it's on your system at all. Check with Growl Version Detective from our downloads page.

I have the same problem and can't follow this advice. Growl shows on my Purchases tab but with a "INSTALLED" link and there's no obvious way to reactivate that link.

Actually, the reason I uninstalled Growl was that when I bought it from the App Store (November 3d) it seems in hindsight to have just reinstalled the 1.2.2 version instead of installing the 2.0. I didn't discover it right away but when the Growl-update reminders kept showing on my screen I finally checked and found out that on the day of purchase, my download folder received Growl-1.2.2.dmg and there is no sign of a 2.0 version.

So today I uninstalled 1.2.2 once more, and now there seems to be no way to install the 2.0 purchase. I may not remember the details right because ten days have passed since I went through the update process. Wouldn't it make sense to look for the 2.0 in the downloads folder, or am I perhaps getting this completely wrong?

Thanks in advance,

No, this would not make sense at all, the Mac App Store by and large installs into the /Applications directory.  if you had some other version of growl installed when you installed via the app store then it likely installed it inside of the old preference pane. I would do what chris says and grab GrowlVersionDetective and see where you have an additional install of Growl (which is why the app store says Installed in a disabled state, it thinks you already have it installed).  The only way to remedy the situation is to purge any and all installed versions so that the app store.app doesn't get confused.

You're right, it's in the Applications folder, Growl.app v 2.0. I should have looked there of course, the old version confused me. I opened the new one and followed the instructions so everything should be fine now.
Thanks a lot!
