Greetings,

I just bought a new Macbook Pro. I've used Growl 1.3.1 on my old
circa 2006 Macbook with success since way back when. I installed
1.3.1 (clean install) from the App Store and it will not register any
Applications. I checked the FAQ information and some of the recent
problems and can't seem to determine what's going on. Please assist!!

Thanks,
Jon

I'm in the same boat. Not working with Transmission, MacIrssi,
Firefox, dropbox, anything really.

Transmission is aware of the issue and they have an update in the
pipeline that fixes it. Firefox is also aware of the issue and they
have a patch currently under review to address their support. Dropbox
has a build up on their forums (a release candidate) that is
compatible with 1.3.x that i have been using for a month or more. I'm
unsure of the status of MacIrssi.

what applications are you expecting to see in the list?

Download Growl Version Detective from: http://growl.info/downloads and run it.  If you switch to the frameworks view it will show you most (but not all) apps that are using growl and which version of it they are using.  You can then select and app and the GVD will try to update that app's growl framework to 1.3.  Note that it is not guaranteed to work but I've had generally good results so far.

BTW, if there are any Growl developers reading this, y'all should make the above clearer on the Growl website.

What suggestions do you have for making this bit clearer? :)

Chris
