We've been discussing rate limiting and spam filtering, but nothing is in Growl at the moment.

You could make a visual display style that is smaller in size, like whiteboard. That should help alleviate some of the issue of screen space.

Was wondering if anyone has figured out yet how to limit notifications. I've been looking around but really haven't seen anything. My plan is to use Growl and Twitter at one of our Theatres during a Movie riff so the audience can twitter their own jokes. Only issue is that we have 200+ people sometimes at these special events and the screen would constantly be flooded with twitter notifications over the movie. Any thoughts?

Oh and you could set the idle time in rollup to 1 second and just use rollup as well.

I was thinking of leaving the comments up a shorter time, but then people might not have enough time to read it. I also cannot make the display smaller seeing as how it will be on a Theatre screen and it needs to be a certain size to be read from a projector.

What about using music video, and then just letting them all queue?

That was my first thought on this project, but one of the people at the office commented that by the time that comment come up out of the queue the moment in the movie will have passed and the joke will be useless by that point.

I was looking around to see if someone had gotten the chance to edit the music video display so I could figure out how they queue the notifications, but not really found anything.
