Italian Localization

Hi folks, I'm interested in translating your software in Italian; I've
already translated the Localizable.strings but I can't access the NIBs
files because they are compiled. How can I proceed?

Specifically which NIBs are you talking about?

/Resources/GrowlHelperApp.app/Contents/Library/Automator/Show Growl
Notification.action/Contents/Resources/it_IT.lproj/main.nib.

Have you tried running Growl with your localization? I am pretty
sure /
Resources/GrowlPref.nib takes its lines from Localizable.strings

I cannot remember if there is a Localizable.strings inside Show Growl
Notification.action. If there is, I think that main.nib takes its
lines from that.

Again, I am not sure about this. It has been a long time since I
localized Growl myself.

Nibs and strings files have nothing automatic to do with each other, and Growl does not take strings from the strings files and put them in the nib-borne UI elements in code, either. Localizers must edit the nib files, not only the strings files.

Thank you for your interest, but we're not accepting localizations at this time, as we've still not all agreed on a process. When we are ready to accept localizations, we will announce that here on this list.

Whatever process we announce, it will involve you working with our source code, not a release version of Growl.
