If your server is pushing notifications to Growl on your desktop computer, then there is no need to set up an subscriptions in the Network tab of Growl. The 'Subscribe to notifications from other computers' is only used when you want to actively ask another computer or service to forward you notifications that it normally does not.

For normal usage, the sending application (in this case, your pbxinaflash server) pushed out the notifications to Growl. To do that, the sending app opens a TCP connection over port 23053 to the receiving computer and sends the data. So your server needs to be able to contact your desktop via that port - if you have a firewall that prevents outgoing connections from your server or incoming connections on your desktop, you will have to open that port up.

I work with a pbxinaflash server (Piaf) and sccessfully installed growl in my windows xp desktop computer.

Piaf is configured to push superfecta callerid notifications to my desktop, but growl shows "server unavailable" in Network > subscribe to notifications from other computers.

Is there any security (iptables) configuration to setup ? or what's happens ??

should i open 23053 port in the Piaf side ??

Thank you

Can you post a screen shot of Growl where it says 'server unavailable'? If your PBX server is sending notifications, then there should be anything in Growl that needs configuration and so nothing should say 'server unavailable'.

Hi and thank you for helping me,

Finally, i succeded get growl working last nignt. It was iptables problem (so opened required port in tcp and udp mode).

But two others questions :

- As i use to forward asterisk callerid to windows desktop, how can display the line name instead of the line number ??
is there any filed to change it manully ??

- How to change de display time to 2 min (120 sec) : that is the time needded for each call ??

Thanks a lot.
