Today I found GFW. And I thought - awesome!

But I experienced an anticlimax when I saw that the PHP library listed
on the deverloper page, is actually a PEAR library. This should
probably be labled so, and another library I found could be added
there:

http://clickontyler.com/php-growl/

It only supports UDP but it doesn't rely on PEAR either. I'll consider
having a chop at a non-PEAR GNTP library but won't make any promises :)

the GNTP PHP library comes in two flavors - one that uses PEAR and one
that does not. from the GNTP PHP page:

"Choose your version:

0.9.0b2 - if you have minimum PHP 4.3.0 and PEAR 1.5.4 installed.
Required also PEAR::Net_Socket 1.0.9
2.0.0RC1 - if you have minimum PHP 5.2.0 (PEAR is optional: uses
installer for a quick and simple installation)"

i didnt list the UDP library because there are already tons of Growl/
UDP libraries out there in lots of languages. the GNTP option offers a
lot more functionality, so i was just focusing on that. of course, GfW
supports the UDP protocol, so you are free to use any of the available
UDP libraries out there as well.

I'll reply later. Thanks Brian to do it for me :)

But it's also to give a new about PHP GNTP Library project.

The final version 2.0.0 will be release in the beginning of 2010 (in few days now).

I'll drop support of PHP4 and clarify the site and final user doc (currently writing) about the term of PEAR (promise !)

To be continue ... Next Year ;-)
