Check out the Mpls ordinances under consideration.
The hoop houses are also a sore spot there. We have asked for a 260 day allowance for hoop houses (March – November range).
The state law trumps the city if you are in a municipality. Taking the plastic off is all we can see to get around it. It is an issue here and more there in the colder climate.
Until the state law changes the cities cannot allow the extension or variance. The 120 sq foot is part of a 696 total outbuilding sq ft limit. It is in aggregate by Mpls.
By the way, don’t call it a hoop house unless you have to. Call it a garden trellis and cover it up “occasionally”.
Also untested is the moveable hoop house that is not permanently affixed to the ground, ala Elliot Coleman.
Keep moving ahead and bring that late season produce to the meetings. I am still pulling carrots.
