Hi Networks, a friend of mine sent me this today:
Does your garden need some spring maintenance done?  Please see below, there are some volunteers available.

On a side note, Bon Appetite Garden in Humboldt Park needs help moving April 2nd. So if you have time that weekend to help them please contact Lydia Molina: lydia.molina@ieanea.org

have a nice evening,
Angela

Thanks so much, Angie! The gap this Thursday is especially urgent, as we only learned of a cancellation last night (a garden we were confirmed with had to cancel due to some on-site construction plans).

Information to be posted:

The Civic Education Project (CEP) is a program housed at Northwestern University that focuses on service learning and civic engagement through intensive residential programs for middle and high school students from around the country. Our programs focus on supporting young people in engaging with the social justice challenges facing our world. Students participating in our spring CivicWeek programs will be volunteering with various community organizations throughout Chicago, and we are looking for a few more garden sites to which we might send groups this week and next!

Thursday, 3/25/16, 10am - 1pm
10 high school students
2 adult chaperones

Thursday, 3/31/16, 1pm - 4pm
18 high school students
3 adult chaperones

Each group would be available to do any hands-on work that would be helpful in the garden. An orientation, history, and tour of the garden would be great to help put the students' service into context.

If you are interested in hosting one of our student groups or would like more information, please contact Tiffany at tiffan...@northwestern.edu or by phone at 773-343-2953 (cell).
