I created a Google Group and when I tried to enter it as a link in my personal Google profile it didn't recognize it as a web address. Also, my group says it's shared privately and I don't see anywhere to change it to shared publicly. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/mental-health-advocacy-group/new  Can you view it? If I do make it public will it get all those vulgar posts I saw on a few Google Groups help groups?

First, you need to resolve with yourself that this is a dead group, or so it seems.  There have only been 2 messages posted here since last year, and the only reason I came in was because I forgot to shut of mail and digest dispatch.

When i clicked on the link the screen said that the group had been created and was ready for someone to log in to start using it.

I suggest that possibly... possibly... that ther ewas a delay on the Google end fully creating the group.  The other possibility, though less likely, is that somehow the web browser you were using managed to corrupt the data it was storing associated with the web pages you were interacting with.  In such a case a RELOAD/REFRESH of a page is called for, or in somewhat worse cases, delete all web browser history, close the browser, and start over.  Google uses cookies to maintain certain information when working with groups (such as login ID and permissions) and if those get mixed up, you simply have to clear them and start over.

So my suggestion would be to flush the browser cache (delete the beowser history) and try clicking that link again.

As a creator/moderator it will be necessary for you to spend some time clicking through the navigation bars to review all of the settings available to a new group user and become familiar with them.  It will take some time to get used to.

Best of luck with it.
