How do people join my mailing list?

I just started a mailing list on Google Groups called "Fort Worth Genealogical Society Announcements" and I want it to be accessible to anyone who wants to join.  It seems that I can provide the URL to the public and they can join, but that is only if they have Google accounts.  I don't want that to be a hard and fast condition of joining the mailing list.

I am actually moving from another mailing list server and trying to take the list members with me.  I invited about 130 members so far and this seems to be one way to bring in those who don't have a Google account.  Will people have to write to me and ask for an invitation?
