I thought I had started a top on this but apparently not.

So with a bot using @mentions and loci - I'd like to be able to use a single name to mention all users (like an @Everybody - some text).  To do this, I've appended all relevant user_ids to that array and made the loci array for each user_id to be the same value (0,10 as an example).

The problem here is that the web-interface creates individual spans for each UID and it is causing issues:

s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">s="mention">

From the app itself on an IoS device - everything looks fine and it just displays the text with a notification to everyone.

@Everybody test

Thoughts?

I had been thinking to try something like this, but figured it would render weird. You'd have limitations on the number of @mentions, but have you tried attaching each user_id to a single letter in the @Everyone mention?

Solid advice - I'll use that as an interim workaround - thanks!

I was wondering how a bot was used to do the @ mention for everyone on the group

Sorry, but @mentions of the entire group aren't possible with bots right now.
