Job Title: Java / React Developer 
Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)
Employment Type: Contract 
Duration: 12+ months 
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Java / React Developer to join our team supporting a Qualtrics-based enterprise experience management (XM) implementation for a leading client in Reston, VA.
The developer will design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and API integrations connecting Java-based services to React front-end components and Qualtrics APIs.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Java (Spring Boot) RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Develop responsive front-end applications using React.js, Redux, TypeScript, and related frameworks.
  • Integrate Qualtrics APIs and data services for survey, response, and analytics workflows.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, QA engineers, and business analysts to deliver end-to-end features.
  • Implement secure authentication/authorization (OAuth2, JWT, SSO, etc.) for application components.
  • Optimize performance and ensure reliability across hybrid deployments.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement enhancements to improve system functionality.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years hands-on experience with Java / J2EE / Spring Boot frameworks.
  • 3+ years of professional front-end experience using React.js and JavaScript ES6+.
  • Strong knowledge of REST API design, JSON, and asynchronous programming.
  • Experience with Relational Databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) and JPA/Hibernate.
  • Familiarity with Qualtrics API integration or other SaaS platforms.
  • Proficiency with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and hybrid team environments.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with TypeScript, Redux Toolkit, or Next.js.
  • Exposure to AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with enterprise identity management (SAML, Okta, Azure AD).
  • Prior experience on federal or enterprise clients in the DC metro area.
  • Working knowledge of Qualtrics XM Platform, survey logic, and API triggers.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Work Arrangement
  • Hybrid: 2–3 days onsite weekly in Reston, VA; remaining days remote.
