About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to build and scale high-impact, API-driven applications in a modern, cloud-native environment. You'll work on complex backend logic, performance tuning, and data-driven features powering a fast-growing health-tech platform.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain advanced Rails APIs with a focus on scalability and performance.
Apply deep knowledge of Rails internals-ActiveRecord optimization, service objects, background jobs, caching strategies, concerns, and metaprogramming.
Architect efficient data models and queries using PostgreSQL.
Work effectively within a containerized AWS environment (EKS, Docker awareness).
Collaborate with front-end teams leveraging React for API integrations.
Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and overall system design.
Requirements
7+ years of professional and recent Ruby on Rails experience with strong API design skills.
Expert-level understanding of Rails framework internals, including ActiveSupport, middleware, and background processing (Sidekiq/Resque).
Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and database performance tuning.
Familiarity with AWS services (S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.).
Exposure to containerized/Kubernetes environments.
Working knowledge of React is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in EST hours.
