Magnetic ear pieces hold well when storing, in the bag or around the neck. Also welcome is the ability to remove single earbud without it pulling out the other thanks to the neckband design, I.e current SoundBud range. Allowed for easy communication when needed without having to remove full headset, such as quick conversations or the usual hello / see ya later.

Mic responded very well to FaceTime calls on iMac and basic audio call on iPhone 6s in light to average background noise, with no complaints of not being able to hear me (though they might have been hoping for that ). Unfortunately on the close end both landline and mobile calls had some parasitic oscillation (garble sound, like listening to a low quality mp3 file on a decent audio system). Something to take into account if you are buying with the sole intention of using or for those with heavy audio call use.

Ongoing SBL voice calls to mobiles and landlines sounded more normal, well as normal as they can for a call, when I was listening on the receiving end. Now on the SBL end, calls from either landlines or mobiles had a slight garble, is the best way I can describe it, when the remote party was speaking. Like the remote party was hearing audio at 320kbps when I spoke but the audio I was hearing from them was at a downsampled 96-128kbps.

I have these buds. For active up/down events the neckband would just bounce up and down and yank the buds out of the ears. These are excellent for motion not bouncing up/down, so for example cycling, walking, general motion moving the head, but not running.

There is no in-ear retainer to force them to keep inside the ears, they do a very good job of keeping in the ear as the in-ear buds are very light and the bud+wire weight is very light so they do not want to pull out when walking and turning the neck.

The primary benefit of the band is it allows a far bigger battery and more powerful charging circuit for excellent battery life and fast recharging and good bluetooth signal strength, but that neck weight of the band means its not really for high energy neck moving up/down type.

The music playback quality is quite good, especially when playing high quality MP3 files with minimal compression. This MP3 player sounds practically identical to WinAmp running on my computer (at least as far as my untrained ears are concerned). I like the Rock equalization setting best, since it really emphasizes the lower frequencies.

The Eumaxs voice recorder can be best described as adequate. While the recording was intelligible, the quality was not very good. The main problem was a soft, high-pitched squeal in the background, which was slightly annoying. The second problem is that the feature is a little confusing to use, and the manual is not very clear on the subject.

Heres how it works: Press the button with a square on it (the Stop button) to turn the unit on (if its not already on). Press M to enter MP3 Delete mode, press it again to enter DVR (digital voice recorder) mode, press it a third time to enter DVR Recording mode, and then press the Play button. Press Stop to quit recording. Once in DVR mode, play, stop, skip forward, and back all refer only to .VOC (recorder) files. To go back to MP3 mode, keep press the M button twice more, until MP3 appears on the status display. Basically, you can use the voice recorder in a pinch, to record items for a grocery list or something, but keep the manual handy the first few times you use DVR, Delete, or any other of the advanced features.

i've actually did some testing between AAC and vorbis for my phone a while ago, and my conclusion pretty much was that at the standard 320kbps AAC is slightly better doing blind A/B testing, but at lower bitrates vorbis truly shines, so if your use case has limited storage space, and the fine details arent as important (for example listening music in an already noisy enviroment) you can save a lot of space using vorbis over AAC, otherwise, just go 320Kbps AAC.

Whenever you encode a file to a lossy format (such as MP3, M4A (AAC), Ogg Vorbis, AC3, or DTS) information is permanently lost. It doesn't matter what you do, it's impossible to get this information back without making a new rip from the original lossless source. If you re-encode it, you are reducing the quality. This applies to any lossy to lossy conversion, so even if you convert from 320 kbps to 192 kbps, the final file will still sound worse than if you had just ripped to 192 kbps from the lossless source in the first place. It's also important to remember to verify that lossless rips actually came from an original source. People that download lossless expect it to be identical to the original. There's no point in people downloading a bigger file just to get another lossy rip.

Stutters, framedrops, "lag". How to provide detailed information with your "bottleneck" question, as well as a few solutions.

I was meant to record this mix while I was in Dublin last week, in true form I ended up having to rush to the airport onto the next show. In short I landed back in Glasgow and went straight to Pirate Studios at 12 am in a full tracksuit only to be met by a room full of boys on the decks.

fully silicone-coated frame allows for comfortable wearing around your neck, while the extended headphone cord provides greater flexibility in how you wear it - either around your neck or over your head
