Hello,

we have a version of GWCE 5.1x running in our company. Now I would
like to make a new installation of the version 6.0.1 on a Ubuntu 10.04
LTS 32 Bit Server.
I hvae some questions about that:

1. Is it possible to install GWCE 6.0.1 on Ubuntu?
2. Is it possible to import all Checks and Configuration from the 5.1x
installation?
3. Where can I find documents (Release Notes, documenation) about GWCE
6.0.1?
4. In the Enterprise Edition it is possible to Monitor Java
Environments? Is the same function implenmented in the Community
edition?
5. Mayby my impression is wrong, but it seems as the community project
is dying. About two years ago there was a documentation and a forum
and now I can`t find Release Notes and so on. That`s very important
because it`s important to the decision whether the software will be
used in the future.

I hope you can answer my questions soon.

Best regards

Chaapp

Chaapp - sorry you were not able to find the release notes. I confess
I could also not find them either on the sourceforge.net site or on
the old forums. You will now find it on monitoringforge.org under
http://monitoringforge.org/projects/gwmos/docs.

We have not provided a .deb package for 6.0.1. However, since 5.3 we
moved away from RPMs to a binary 'Bitrock' installer. Some folk in
the community may have been able to get this to work on Ubuntu. The
Enterprise Edition does install on Ubuntu.

Yes, the upgrade procedure deals with migration of the Monarch
Configuration database so long as you follow the documented migration
path.

See my other post.

Not at this time. The JDMA capability is only available in the
Enterprise Edition.

The forums have suffered in recent times from a lot of spam. Due to
the way the forums were implemented a number of the anti-spam features
of phpBB 'had' to be disabled' We moved to Google Groups in order to
provide a less spam ridden location for discussion about GroundWork.
We are evaluating how to re-implement phpBB and revive the older
forums, and we apologize for the inconvenience this has created for
our community members.

Good night

I'm happy to see that the Community isn't dead.

I'm currently running the last version of the community edition with
nagvis integration. And since today with nagios business process
inteligence plugin.

We are very happy with this great piece of software and looking
forward to see new releases.
The old version of the forums was very bad. Even if google groups
isn't the best one, it's much better than the old one.

I'm also available to help improving the "comunity version" of
groundwork.

Best Regards
