Bold prayers in August!

Dear friends of God’s people in Guatemala!

What an amazing year we are having in Guatemala! God is working in the
hearts and lives of the people here each week through Bible studies
and children’s activities, through house visits and medical care, and
through education made available through sponsorships…all for the
purpose of giving God glory and bringing more into God’s Kingdom.

Groundwork Guatemala is committed to being financially responsible,
using every resource with which God has blessed us wisely and not
moving forward with new expenditures (e.g. additional scholarships, a
food distribution program, or an in home craft ministry) until we
cover our current need for sponsors for our five Guatemalan
missionaries who are passionately faithful servants of the Lord,
committed to bringing the Gospel to their people. God has been
gracious to “fill the gap” with general funds to this point. However,
because decisions about how many children might receive scholarships
beginning in January should be made by November, we are coming to
those of you who have been our faithful prayer warriors as we seek to
fill this gap with monthly sponsors, allowing us to move forward as
God calls us into future ministry projects.

We are asking for bold prayers that God would cover these sponsorships
by the end of August!

Perhaps several members of your church family could take one of these
servants as their project and finish out their sponsorships. (For
example, we need additional sponsors to cover $188 more for Julián
each month.) If you or others in your church (individuals, small group
Bible studies, Sunday School class, youth group) are interested in
sponsorship, please contact Rachel at

Thank you for your gift of prayer! We trust that God will continue to
provide for all of our needs as He has faithfully done thusfar! He is
awesome and mighty and always keeps His promises.

How does sponsorship work? At $50 or $100 per month (or whatever
amount someone feels called to share), sponsors have the joy of
developing a relationship with one of our five Guatemalan
missionaries. Sponsors receive correspondence from their Guatemalan
friend and are encouraged to write to them about their family and life
in the United States. Pictures are always cherished. 100% of your
sponsorship donation goes towards the monthly love offering given to
