to Groundwork Guatemala update
Dear friends,
Our jaws dropped and a big "Yay, God!!" was shouted when Rachel called
us last week. "We got our papers from the IRS! We're approved!!!"
Groundwork Guatemala is now officially a non-profit 501(c)(3)
organization!!! While some have said to expect at least a six month
wait, we had an incredible one month turn around with no rewrites or
questions!

Randy (and I know you won't want me to say this, but I will anyway),
you did an outstanding, above and beyond job at preparing the forms
upon forms that took dozens of hours and months of work. Your
attention to details really paid off. We can't thank you enough for
giving your precious time to make this happen.

So! To all of the sponsors and supporters of God's work here, we're
very happy to let you know that you should now make your tax exempt
checks or re-direct your auto-pay to "Groundwork Guatemala" rather
than St. Luke Lutheran Church. The sooner we can eliminate that step
of having to have donations go through our church in AZ, the better.
The St. Luke staff has been so gracious in allowing us to go through
their system, and we send our thanks! We hope to have all donations
going directly through Groundwork Guatemala as soon as possible.
Thanks for helping to make that happen!

An update for so many of you who have asked about our status with
regard to the mudslides that have been in the news in the States: We
and our current mission team from Grace Lutheran, Jacksonville FL, are
gratefully fine and safe. We are deeply saddened as we hear of the
loss of life as a result of the numerous mudslides that have occurred
in the past weeks. Please remember in your prayers the families of the
victims and those who continue to wait for rescuers to recover their
loved ones. Also, remember those who have lost their homes and what
little they had. They are in the palm of God's hand, always in His
thoughts. We pray that they will feel His love and find hope in Him
during this difficult and challenging time.

We pray that you are having a wonderful week, filled with the joy and
hope of Christ!
Much love,
Ginny
