{Groundwork Guatemala update} Manuel from Only A Child

Hello friends!
If you recall, Manuel is a young man with the Only A Child ministry in
Guatemala who was shot twice back in December. He's made remarkable
progress in his recovery during the past 3+ months. I received this
email from George followed by an awesome prayer raised by one of his
friends/supporters. Thanks for remembering Manuel this morning and the
days ahead as he recovers... I'll keep you updated on his condition.

To all of our friends and supporters,

Greetings from Guatemala. Once again, I am asking for your prayers.
Manuel's follow-up surgery, to remove his temporary colostomy bag and
reconnect the bowel is at hand. It is scheduled for this Monday
morning. Manuel's recovery has continued to progress remarkably well
and his surgeon feels that Manuel is in very good shape. As such, the
surgeon is optimistic that the operation will be problem free. Even
so, as you know there are no guarantees, and we certainly can use all
the help we can get. Therefor, I also request that you will call on
friends, family and churches/prayer groups to pray for Manuel, as
well.

Thank you. I will get back to you on Monday, to let you know how the
surgery went.

LORD, You created Manual's inmost being; You knit him together in his
mother’s womb. We praise You because Manual is fearfully and
wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, we know that full well.
Manual's frame was not hidden from You while he was being made in the
secret place. As Manual was being woven together in the depths of the
earth, Your eyes saw his unformed body. All the days ordained for
Manual are written in Your book before one of them came to be (Psalm
139:13-16). Lord Jesus, You are the Great Physician. All healing comes
from You. Thank You for Your healing power. Your Word says that You
are the LORD Who heals us (Exodus 15:26).

This morning LORD we come before You, the Creator Who knows every
intricate part of Manual’s body and the Great Physician Who heals,
asking for Your healing in Manual’s life. As the surgeon reconnects
Manuel’s bowel this morning, guide his mind with wisdom and his hands
with steadiness. We pray the same for the nurses, technicians, and
those involved in Manuel’s surgery and recovery. Restore Manuel to
health and heal his wounds (Jeremiah 17:14) Heal Manuel, O LORD, and
he will be healed; save him and he will be saved (James 5:15). May
this prayer offered in faith make Manuel well; LORD, raise him up
(Colossians 1:9-12).
