Dear friends and family,
We are back in ministry in Guatemala and can’t wait to share some of our experiences and feelings with you. You can find a couple of new updates to our blog at: http://allforhiminguate.blogspot.com/
Randy has been working long hours on our new website, so we’ll let you know as soon as it’s ready!
Many blessings as we serve our Savior,
With love,
Ginny

Hi Ginny –
I can hear the joy in your voice through your last blog – while I know the conditions are not the best it sounds like God is working in his amazing ways once again through you and Kevin. I can’t wait to go down there to see it all and share in the ministry!
I spoke to Gregorio and I think we may try to come down next month – if it all works out.
I’m having dinner at my house next Friday with both of the groups that have gone down to Guatemala. Pastor and I want to talk to them about Groundwork Ministries. I have the Group document you sent that I’ll share with all. I will also pass along your blog site to them.
Please give Ruth, Oscar, Manuel, Marta and all their kids a big HUG and lots of KISSES for me. Choci too – I’m so glad to hear that she is with you guys. She is an amazing woman!
Love you!!!

Dear Ginny,
Thank you for your update. Do you have any paperwork, etc. for the teams? I am still drumming up folks, so don't have an idea of numbers yet. All I know is that we will be there on July 4 and look forward to assisting you in any way. We will do whatever you want or need us to do, just let me know, so we can be prepared. The economy here has gone form bad to worse; as that happens the number of older team members diminishes. I may be all about kids again. Again, just give me whatever info you can, so I can pass it on in my "recruiting".
Take care,
Sally

Hi, Renee!
It was so great to hear from you. Yes, we are no longer associated with The Servant’s Heart. We did not agree with the way they were handling funds, among other things. It has been a very difficult past few months. Because we revealed things about what we had discovered to the Board of Directors, Carla was eventually removed from her position as CEO. However, in December, she and her niece, Breanne, “fired” the Board, told us we could not return and took over the ministry. This, of course, was not legal, but the Board chose to resign their positions rather than fight a costly legal battle over a ministry that was quite terribly in debt due to overspending and mishandling of funds. ($7200 of our support money was missing as well.) We truly feel that one of the reasons we were called to Guatemala was to be the voice of truth for the Guatemalan people here. The Board didn’t have a clue what was going on, so we had to continue to tell them over and over what we were finding. It had to stop, and as you can imagine, we were not the most popular people as the bearers of bad tidings. However, we needed to stand firm on the truth to stop the madness.
Losing contact with those we have come to love as family over the past four years has been like having an adopted child ripped away from us. Many of the people at the ministry were fired (Coca being one of them for asking where his back pay was for 2007), so we pray they can find work. Carla has told the people there that we were thieves and called Sandra’s mother and told her Sandra was a thief, too. More than 3,000 letters were sent out in the States saying that we had lost our focus on spiritual things and had mishandled things in Guatemala. It’s been quite a time!!! Adrián is now in charge of the ministry with no Americans overseeing it. Coca is still looking for work and is very concerned as his mother is out of work as well.
BUT our call to the people of Guatemala remains strong, and God has laid His plan before us to begin again as Groundwork Guatemala. We will be working in two new areas around Amatitlán and also in Buena Vista, a village about 2 hours from here. As we find our niche and begin our activities, God is drawing people to hear His Word of promise and hope. Manuel, Sandra, Julián (he & Lucy are expecting their baby in March!), Ruth and Oscar left TSH and are serving with us. They are simply amazing and completely and passionately committed to spreading God’s Word.
We’re expecting our first team on Saturday, and can’t wait to see what God has in mind for this journey of faith that these 13 people will be on. They are coming armed with tools and beds and linens and kitchen stuff and plan to paint and build bunk beds and just be here for us to help get this ministry started. Awesome, to say the least!
Randy (Rachel’s husband) is getting very close to putting our website up, so I’ll pass that word on when it’s ready! We cherish your prayers and friendship! Hey! Kevin and I are coming to FL March 4-18 to reconnect with our support base there. Perhaps we could get a gang together from Trinity to chat! I’d love it!
It’s so great to see pics of you guys on FB. Sure doesn’t seem like two years have passed!
Many blessings!
Ginny
