To all,
Happily, the update that I have for you concerning Manuel's health is
largely positive. He came out of the surgery well and is resting
comfortably, in stable condition. Luis Alfredo, our staff
psychologist, was granted permission to visit with him this morning -
despite the fact that today was not a day of visitation - and said
that Manuel was conscious, lucid, and able to speak reasonably well.
He even managed a smile, and in general, is in good spirits.
Unfortunately, one of the bullets punctured his intestine and it was
necessary to remove a substantial part of it. Although he is expected
to make a full recovery, there remains a serious risk of infection.
Therefore I ask that you all please continue to keep him in your
prayers.
Lastly, my most heartfelt thanks to the many who sent me well wishes
and words of encouragement. I can't tell you how much it meant to me.
Also, it seems that we now have an army of people praying for Manuel,
all across the U.S.and into Canada. Nothing could make me happier at
this time, or offer me more comfort. Thanks again. God bless.
George
