Hey there crew -

Sorry if this has been handled elsewhere, but is the Idea Catalogue
(the map window that pops up after you decide to "Build a positive
Experience at this location"), is that window in flux? In the most
recent incarnation of the code, it seems like there are two select
windows, but they are not working on my machine. I am going to style
these windows to fit in better with the other assignment editor
windows, but will wait if the state of this window is in flux.

Apologies if no one has any idea what I am talking about.

Cheers,

******

no worries, i think i know what window you are talking about. can you
elaborate on 'not working'? what did you expect and what did actually
happen? when i select one of the categories on the left side, the idea
catalog on the right side changes accordingly.
did you type 'make' after the latest pull? do you have any error
messages in the javascript console/firebug?

bye,

hey there marmorkuchen

Thanks for helping me on this. I'm pretty sure we are talking about
the same window - it's controlled by idea_catalog.html in the
ideas_app folder.

OK, so In reply:

I see the two select windows, but they don't sit side by side; and
when I select an item in the left (or top in my case) window, nothing
changes in the other window. See attached image.

hmm, well that top/left issue will likely be fixed when you have made it
look nice & shiny. :)

what browser do you use? Joe might be better in helping if it is a
compatibility issue, coz he uses MacOS as well. Firefox on Linux is all
fine.

but then... it doesn't work for me on the live site either! the live
site also shows the alert 'error during dispatch' which
i had yesterday but was fixed in Joe's latest commit(s) - which are
probably not deployed on live yet.
are you sure you have the latest iteration of the code? does 'git fetch
jxe' fetch any new stuff (assuming 'jxe' is somewhat linked to Joe's
tree)?

you don't have to worry about this one. it should appear after about 10
seconds when the page is loaded. i am not sure yet if this is due to a
call to Google/Panoramio/groundcrew and only seems to happen when you
run the viewer locally. but it doesn't seem to have an adverse affect on
the viewer's functionality.

Woah, it IS broken. I'll try to see what's wrong.

Sorry I haven't been online-- was in a meeting about building the
business plan all day.

This is now fixed. The boxes update as they should.

They look side-by-side to me in safari 4 and firefox 3.1.

The css that makes them so is kind of a hack. Perhaps they should be
given clear borders and margins.. does that work on select boxes?

That "restricted URI" error is due to panoramio. I'm not totally clear
about why it happens.

Cool - yes, the updating in the Idea Catalogue is working for me now
(though they don't appear side by side - might be changes I've made to
my fork's css...)

I'm working on visually integrating this window with the rest of the
Assignment Editor, so I'll clean up the css on it.

Sounds good. Yes, I bet it's your CSS changes.
