Hi All,

1) We could really use the collective help of everyone here! As you
know, we want this conference to be a low-cost conference to attend.
In order to achieve our goal and price it reasonably, we need
sponsors. Shaun is busy defining sponsorship levels and just what
sponsors will get in return for their contributions. We are hoping
that you can go to your employers and see if they might be willing to
sponsor. Please let either Shaun or I know if there could be interest.

2) Several people stated, at the beginning of planning for this
conference, that they would be willing to volunteer. We are seeking
someone who will be the Sponsorship Coordinator. This position would
entail following up with names collected above, nailing down and
collecting the sponsorships, and possibly and seeking out further
sponsors if our goals are not met. It would probably be good if you
have connections, but feeling comfortable doing this work is the most
important. This role is short-term as we need all the sponsorship
commitments by the time we put the tickets on sale (Feb 1). As a final
note, when talking with sponsors, it will be important to gauge
whether or not they would be interested in exhibitor space. If we find
four or so, we should be able to set up an exhibition area.

FWIW - we'd take on this role, but have much to do, and especially
with the holidays, it just might be too much. Just think how great
this will look on your resume'! Of course, you'll get free admission
for taking on this role.

Bill
