Regarding the website redesign, part of the agreement with Søren was
that we would rebuild the website.

[Guillaume LaForge] I guess we first need to think about what we wanna
do with that site.
GR8Conf becoming more than just GR8Conf Denmark, I think we have to
think about how to extend / improve the code base of our Grails app to
make it able to cope with different events.
For instance, things that come to mind:
- change the front page so it reflects there will be 3 different
events in 2010
- have different location / speakers pages for each conference
- perhaps have a real Speaker domain class, and a Conference domain
class as well, with some one-to-many relationship to say which speaker
speaks to which conference
- the agenda was driven by Google Calendar, which was nice and handy,
but perhaps we should have a real schedule with related domain classes
this time? or should we have a calendar by event?
- perhaps to avoid the hassle of PayPal, we could look at things like
EventBrite, Amiando and co. to take care of the payments, attendee
listing, etc?
- there's also the CMS aspect we need to think of, how to best edit
the site without having to redeploy it for minor changes (CMS plugin?
some Web 2.0 doc insertion? some menu plugin?...)

Søren, perhaps you could give Bill and Paul access to SVN so they have
a first look at what's in there already?

[Bill Turner] I am willing to work on this, but would be happier if
someone else was involved, someone with more Grails experience
perhaps, and especially with some of the things Guillaume has
suggested.

We also have an issue with hosting.

[Søren] What to do? I can host it on my server, if Mor.ph doesn't get
around with another sponsoring round... I have asked them already, but
haven't heard from them yet.

We pay approx. 1$ per day, which is the minimum on morph. My server is
running anyway, and I have 25mbit upstream. Buy the metal is not very
advanced, but we could try it and see how it goes?

[Paul King]
I have a 1G instance on SliceHost if that helps. It isn't specifically
backed up at the moment but I am sure something could be worked out.
It has other things on it, so I am not sure whether speed will be an
issue.

[Bill Turner] To group, any ideas or comments on this?

Got this from Søren:

Our JUG sponsored $30 - that means one more month to figure out where
to put gr8conf.org

----
Still soliciting ideas! My opinion is that each of the three GR8's
should pay an equal portion, but that could be debated. If leaving it
at Mor.ph, how do we raise our share?
