(Optional)Quick Menu is a utility software that allows you to easily start the applications and manuals supplied with the printer, or quickly access online product information. In addition, install My Image Garden, and you can enjoy slide shows of images saved on a computer from Image Display.
I am using a Canon LiDe 120 Scanner and it works without issue. I can access the scanner from within programs (i.e. PaintShop Pro) and I can run the Cannon Scanner Utilities and scan documents. The issue is - all of a sudden the little quick menu that used to be available, does not start now when I select the program shortcut, or if I run the exe directly and even with admin access C:\Program Files (x86)\Canon\Quick Menu\CNQMMAIN.exe. I receive no error messages in the event log. No errors on screen. The program just does not run. It does nothing.
I've been asked to accept the uninstall and reinstall as a solution, but in my opinion it's not. The Quick Menu won't load. My solution was to uninstall the software as it is currently useless. I was also asked to rate the customer service I received and although they responded quickly, simply stating what I have done already - again wasn't good technical support in my opinion. This is not the only report of the Quick Menu program not loading so you would think there would be some sort of logging to diagnose the issue. But there isn't. I'm closing this now with the solution to remove the software.
Have you managed to solve the issue you were having with the Quick menu for the scanner? I too have a LiDE120 scanner which has been working falwlessly until last week. Then, out of the blue, I started getting a pop up window that said that the driver for the Quick menu was not installed. When I cleick on the Quick Menu icon, it is blank where there should be several logos for various functions. Have uninstalled and re-installed with no success.

The language changes between this models. I know the is electronic ES, electron first curtain (EFS) and mechanical shutter but do the call them that in the EOS R. No! Why? Maybe the EOS R likes mysteries. The menu tabs are pretty consistent between model. Thank goodness more expensive bodies have fancier features so longer and more subtabs in those menus. I have not used my 5DIV in month I hope I still use and remember were the menus items are.
However overall the model are pretty easy to learn to use. I had a Sony pocket/travel camera that I sold after a year because of the hard to find menu controls and the little buttons on back that were too small for my fingers. So I sold the little Sony camera after a year and got a Canon G5X II for a pocket camera. The menus and control are more similar to the Canon ILCs than the Sony was making the camera much easier to learn and use.
I'm having the same issue with hitting the Q button & info to get to the settings, It's hit or miss on whether I can get back to the settings screen by hitting the info screen. I really dislike the way the R5 has laid out that menu, My previous camera is the 7d MK II & for me it's familiar and I can get to everything I need by pressing Q, with the Touch LCD settings on screen menu your missing some items. I'd much rather have the older menu.
Can someone help me how to find the setting to change the Q Menu back to the one that is shown in all the videos. That is the way it looks on my Canon 7dii. I hate the way it looks around the edges. I read the post that said to go to the Info display setting, but I've gone through the menu multiple times and can't find it. Thank you for helping me.
If you haven't made any changes when you push the "info" button it should go through different screens the old style being one of them. If you don't want all those other screens you can turn off some of them. You need to push menu button, go to camera icon top left (the red menu)then to #7. Bottom choice should be "Shooting info disp", push set button. Next screen top choice "Screen info settings" push set button. Should now have a screen with a picture on the left and 1-5 on the right. You want to have #5 checked. I don't know why but I can not get all the other choices unchecked it always wants to leave a second choice with a gray check mark so I have that in choice #2 for now may try different ones later. After you have made your choice you need to go to "Okay" and push the set button. Now the old style screen should come up when you turn the camera on. Push Q button and you should be able to use toggle to move to settings you want to change.
