Barry,
Lisa here from Pacific Science Center. We’re having some serious issues with Grooviks cube. Mike’s in Europe, so I’m hoping you can help trouble shoot.
This morning we couldn’t get the cube to come online. Typical practice in this situation is to crash and restart the cube brain (by shutting off power then powering back up). We tried this several times to no effect.
We then checked the stations. They were unable to connect to the cube.
We then opened the cube to see if we could boot the linux box from inside. No luck there either. There are lights on, so it is receiving power. But it will not boot up.
Also, Mike can’t seem to log in remotely, even though everything is powered.
At this point, our best guess is that we need a new cube brain. But, if you have other suggestions to try, they would be very welcome.
Please call or email as soon as you are able. I can be reached on my cell phone at 206-595-8731.
Thanks,
Lisa

Hey lisa, I can spend all day Friday on this if needs be, and some time this weekend. Should I give you a call Friday am?
Of course it happens at Christmas.
If anyone has the ability to replicate and install a new linux box, that seems to be the fastest fix right now. We have an event that’s centered on the cube scheduled for January 6th and, at this point, we can’t even get the lights on.
Best,
