Just a heads up I compiled grok and have it functional with OpenBSD 4.6
on a Netra X1 Sparc64 machine.

I'm wondering if there is a way to limit the amount of ram that grok
takes up though. Without this limiting ability I won't be able to use
grok, as it currently swaps 400mb and bogs down the system.

Grok shouldn't be using too much memory. If it is, it's likely a
memory leak. Do you have an idea of how the memory usage grows over
time? Can you post your config?

I can try to reproduce this.
