This is the most comprehensive dictionary of Nepali language, available on Android. It will help you improve your Nepali speaking and writing skills. Learn Nepali is an offline dictionary app, so you don't have to worry about data charges when using it. This app has a simple and user-friendly interface that makes it easy to use. It is a dictionary with word games. So you can learn more words and improve your spelling skills. It has an offline file update mechanism. You don't have to download the dictionary every time. So you can save your phone's storage and data charges.

It can be used alone as a traditional picture dictionary but it also has a very special added extra - if you own a PENpal Talking Pen, then you can download the audio for FREE and your picture dictionary then becomes a talking book. Touch each word to hear a native speaker repeat the word to you, in either Nepali or English, so that you can perfect your pronunciation & intonation.

My Bilingual Talking Dictionary - Nepali & English is a high-quality book that can either be used as a fun picture dictionary in its own right, or can be matched with a PENpal Talking Pen (available separately) to make a complete learning package.

Namaste mero saathiharu!
I am learning Nepali currently and I'm struggling to find a reliable dictionary to translate words from english. There is one dictionary very popular on the app store but I'm not sure how reliable the translation is. For example, in the video course I'm currently learning from the teacher says that "Smile" in Nepali is "Haasne" but in the dictionary it's "Muskana", drive or ride is "Chalaaunu" but in the dictionary it's "Draibha".

Maybe they're just synonyms, but the dictionary doesn't offer me just one word at a time so I have no way to know. If anyone here has a better source to learn Nepali words from english it would help me a lot.

Add a Word: This dictionary is not exhaustive; ASL signs are constantly added to the dictionary. If you don't find a word/sign, you can send your request (only if a single link doesn't show in the result).

ASL has its own grammar and structure in sentences that works differently from English. For plurals, verb inflections, word order, etc., learn grammar in the "ASL Learn" section. For search in the dictionary, use the present-time verbs and base words. If you look for "said", look up the word "say". Likewise, if you look for an adjective word, try the noun or vice versa. E.g. The ASL signs for French and France are the same. If you look for a plural word, use a singular word.

The stories and pictures in the school materials are based on the traditional Rajbanshi lifestyle and environment. These teaching materials inspired the Rajbanshi MLE team and Kimiko Abe to develop the trilingual dictionary for the Rajbanshi school children.

Rajbanshi MLE school teachers and others in the communities shared with Abe information about their culture and described items such as household goods, musical instruments, clothes and ornaments, plus names of animals, plants and food. Each dictionary entry includes a simple description relevant to Rajbanshi children, including interesting facts, in order to raise the children's interest and give them joy in learning.

It is my hope that the Picture Dictionary will serve as an educational resource in the Rajbanshi communities as well as in the Rajbanshi MLE schools. Further, the Picture Dictionary is beneficial for students in gaining skills in using a dictionary, for searching and making new discoveries, and opening their eyes to a broader world."

SIL is dedicated to supporting language communities around the world as they develop dictionaries for their languages. Dictionaries provide a long list of benefits: a resource for students who want to know the meaning of an unfamiliar word, a reference for writers, a guide to standard spelling and a reference for the community's traditional knowledge of local plants and animals. A dictionary can bolster a community's pride in its language and compiling the words and definitions provides a tangible goal for mother-tongue speakers to work toward together.
