In my case when I run the provided command ( echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE ) it gives the output x11 and not wayland which is not the case in the other answers also I use kde plasma and not gdm3 on linux mint 20 so the answers solution for modifying /etc/gdm3/custom.conf didn't work for me the videos play just as it supposed to be when I run them on the same device I recorded them but trying to share them over whatsapp or something or moving them to my smartphone It just gives a black screen.
Now that your system is updated, you are ready for upgrading to Linux Mint 20. Linux Mint team provides a command line tool called mintupgrade for the sole purpose of upgrading Linux Mint 19.3 to Linux Mint 20.
Note that this command points your system to the Linux Mint 20 repositories. If you want to go back to Linux Mint 19.3 after using this command, you still can do that with the command mintupgrade restore-sources.
Hey Mike, I actually don't record anything. I did record one not long ago on my Kubuntu Laptop, so perhaps it is the version of kazam, the laptop, or like condobloke said, perhaps it's 17.1? But I will keep running 17.1 on this old laptop because it was my first Linux box and want to keep it like this for a while. Just got the latest Chrome installed via repositories so that was good.
kazam_win_0_2.zip I don't know why sourceforge makes it so difficult to find the version before downloading. I suppose that is a clever tactic to get more clicks. I'll need to look at the version that I installed from the repositories and see if this one can be installed. Ahh, it's under FILES
