The Ellwood City Hospital Center for Geriatric Psychiatry

We are Lawrence County’s only in-patient geriatric psychiatric unit.

We are available 24 hours/7 days a week to help you, your family, your friend, your resident, or your client 65 years and older with any behavioral health need requiring in-patient care. (We can take referrals between the ages of 55-64 if the physician feels the referral would be appropriate for our program.)

We accept referrals from all counties and work with those counties to ensure the highest degree of mental health care for their residents.

We have a dedicated staff of Psychiatrists, Nurses, Mental Health Techs, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and an experienced management team. Our Licensed Music Therapist ensures a schedule to keep patients engaged and active.

Our Medical Director is Dr. Timothy Schneider from New Wilmington. He has 17 years of experience in the mental health field. He also has his own practice in New Wilmington, PA.

We work with all major insurances and work diligently to ensure that each patient receives the care and support that they need to live and thrive at their optimum level.
