I have this problem too. I use Grive to made backup from my Raspberry PI to Google Drive.

I think the problem is describe here:

Dear developers, could you tell me, is it expected a new version of Grive with this new Drive API?

Hi. I've just made a fork of Grive https://github.com/vitalif/grive2 which supports the new Drive REST API. It's also me who implemented the partial sync (-d subdir) in the past. Try it out :)
