GRITS Members

The next GRITS tandem ride is scheduled for this Sunday October 13trh at Rollingview Falls Lake State Park located at 4201 Baptist Rd in Durham.  Rides options of 21, 33 and 50 miles will be available.  All three rides ae on low traffic roads and follow scenic courses around and north of Falls lake. The 21 mile ride is flat and will be a no drop pace.  All rides will start at 9:30AM from the boat ramp area.  Route maps are available on Ride With GPS and can be found via the links below.

Rollingview Park opens at 8AM and there is a charge of $7/car ($5 for military or over 62 yrs).  We are bringing snacks & drinks for after the ride and will commandeer one of the picnic tables under the shelter at the rear of the parking lot to cool down and socialize.  If you plan on coming please let us know so we can bring enough snacks & drinks for everyone.

Currently, the weather looks iffy with a 40% chance of showers so we’ll monitor the forecast and make a decision sometime Saturday.

Hope to see you there, Alan & Loretta Woodall (awood...@gmail.com).

I would like to introduce myself.  My name is Aaron Leininger.

I haven't been active with this group--not out of lack interest--rather because of a busy life with my young kids.  I did help out a few years back with the Tandem rides at the Governor's School in Raleigh, though.

If its okay with the group, I would like to come participate this weekend with my newish tandem partner Colleen.

I have a "renovated" Chromoly 1979 Schwinn Paramount Tandem that has lots of character, especially now that it has pedal blocks to help my new more "fun-sized" partner fit comfortably! Emoji

I think we would be interested in the 21 or 33 mile distances.

Thanks!

Morning Alan:
Sorry we are going to miss the GRITS ride. We are going to be out of town this weekend.  We hope the weather holds out and that everyone has a great ride.
