You crazy bastards did it. You outdid even my rock-bottom expectations for this team and I couldn't be prouder. We don't have nearly enough people to play tomorrow and I refuse to bring a group of all pick-ups because of our stalwart no new friends ethos. Therefore we have forfeited the tourney and will not have games tomorrow. 

What a fitting ending for a team that has churned out more war criminals per capita than Harvard. Though we will not have a chance to mess up the final tournament and crush dreams on the field, our afternoon before dropping out has caused a scheduling nightmare that will no doubt make the day less enjoyable for everyone there tomorrow, including WAFC staff. A true G&G undefeated final tourney record indeed. 

So enjoy another non-frisbee day tomorrow and pour one out for the death of G&G. Like a prize horse told it has one more race in it before being unceremoniously dragged behind a shed, shot, and ground up into jello before realizing it was lied to - our team died doing what it loved best - being completely unreliable in the face of any adversity or even a casual pathway forward. Colin and I would like to say it's been a pleasure being your captains, but we don't want to lie in our final email to you all. 

Good riddance G&G, you were truly a beacon of hope for all frisbee players in DC who didn't like frisbee culture or trying but were still surprisingly good. As a 19 year-old new to DC a decade ago when I first played G&G, I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to help me completely derail both my frisbee and professional careers. In the words of poet Vin Diesel "I don't have friends, I have family." Love all of you, and also hate every last one of you for foisting this captainship upon me - heavy weighs this crown that has no power and no sway over anything you assholes do. RIP.

p.s. We will be having a final party at some point - but right now I'm busy and don't feel like prioritizing planning anything for you ungrateful misfits. I'll send out a google poll for scheduling sometime next week (or whenever I get to it).

Can’t wait for the tournament this weekend!!! Hope y’all have been hydrating and eating lots of carbs!! I’m happy to bring a tent/extra water for people (looks like it’s gonna be a scorcha lol). So grateful to leadership for guiding us through the seasons, and excited to celebrate the end with all of you beautiful people. See you on the fields tomorrow!!

The other team started assessing points so we had to start. Mike won the flip and they turfed it for an easy break. Score is 1-5 bad guys. 

If you can play better defense than Syd or Emma, I’d really suggest you get here soon, they aren’t really effective downfield or playing good dump defense…

Hey, I need a ride because I'm in grad school so I can't drive myself. 

I also can't go anywhere convenient for that pickup so you should get me. 

I'll also not contribute gas money despite being gainfully employed. 

I'm also not good at ultimate but by some shocking turn of events there are a lot of people who are way worse than me who care way more and sometimes get tattoos for finishing 13th in the section. 

I'm not sure who is happier this is done - me who paid the iron price, or the loser try hard who kept losing to us.

Either way, you're all free! Go enjoy life! Brunch, golf, farmers markets... Your weekends are back, baby!
