Non-Sarcastic Email about Anti-Racism and WAFC

Dear G & G,

I know that this is normally a sarcasm and cynicism only email chain, but these unprecedented times call for unprecedented changes. Who even knows when we can once again show up dismissively late to a game while we dismissively drink and then dismiss some truly dismissable team? I'm not sure I even remember what letter we're on or which field to not show up to on time.

That said, I'm writing to you because of an important issue going on right now in our ultimate community.

Like many other ultimate teams right now, my friends on HVAC have been having racial equity meetings to discuss how they can shift the culture of ultimate to be more inclusive and equitable, particularly of BIPOC players, coaches, and supporters.

While WAFC has acknowledged their support for this cause, they have only mentioned that they are working on a strategic plan behind closed doors with little to no details. After contacting Tim and the board several times to no avail, HVAC has drafted a letter outlining actions WAFC could take in the short term to better engage the community and execute on their stated goals of improving racial equity in our organization. The tone of the email is collegial and the end goal is for WAFC staff and Board to work collaboratively with membership to advance racial justice locally.

It would be wonderful if you could lend your name to the letter to help push WAFC to improve by working with BIPOC members of our community and BIPOC led organizations who are better equipped to address these issues.
