HeraldNet: Judge allows recall to go before voters

"Carkeek ** was elected ** to District 8's board of commissioners last
year after campaigning on the premise that the district needed to be
overhauled or disbanded. He also claimed that his property should be
exempt from drainage assessments and that the district overcharges
residents."

Yes, the truth is Lake Stevens still lean towards a good lynching. Bob
Carkeek won big and by a mandate, due to the grossly high drainage
fee's being charged around and on lake front residents!
Then our trusty bureaucrats avoiding the true cause of lake pollution
in all the steep hillside developments being shoehorned in! Even homes
being built on pure wetlands on Lake Stevens Road. A small boats wake
could easily inundate the slop called buildable land. Find out who
changed that land use, or granted those permits? That's why I voted for
Bob Carkeek.
Bob Carkeek wasn't afraid to speak his mind, or ask why. With the
County's drainage and sewer district's becoming as politically entwined
with the same developers as the County Council's majority is, it's
amazing Mr. Carkeek hasn't been drawn and quartered by now?

As far as the "state's Open Public Meetings Act!" Why were the other
two commissioners allowing the forum to deteriorate and get out of
control and away from the agenda?
When a question was brought up about why lake developers were paying
next to nothing in drainage fee's, the cat calls being dished out
during this portion of the public meeting were of a personal nature,
and avoiding the question.

I hope people remember why they voted for Bob Carkeek? Not only have
the fee's doubled, but one County Council member told the Lake Stevens
City Council, two years ago that they would be tripled by the end of
his term, this November.

More wasted tax dollars on a district that's become outstanding at
collecting fee's!
