We called her Aunt Ann. Yet in our hearts we knew Ann was shorthand
for angel.
A few short weeks before she passed, we visited in her hospital stay.
She smiled, appearing to be in perfect health inspite of the cancer
that was coursing through her body.
Ann told us that life is just a story, and everyday we are writing our
narratives. "And if you ever find yourself on a page you don't like,"
our angel told us, "Keep turning." Don't stop, keep turning.
There is a skill in choosing to be happy, choosing joy over sorrow,
everyday. And, when we smile while we are in the trenches, it is that
decision, that hope and that faith that will ultimately carry us
through. Unfortunately, when we relish in the war, when we glorify the
battle, it is that commitment that same faith that keeps u there.
Resiliancy and Happiness are two sides of the same coin. We must
decide each time we stumble that we will keep running. We must choose
each time that we fail that we will keep trying. And, we will keep
deciding and keep choosing to be happy through our losses until we
reach success.
Otherwise, we will never meet Success, and we will never truly know
Joy.
This week, keep turning. Keep smiling. Keep laughing.
