from Final Apology
by Lhea J. Love

I'm sorry Life, this is my plea
If I must, I will not sleep
Until you understand my determination
And I see the stregnth within me
I'm sorry life, I cannot be
The bitter broken fool you make of me
And Life, I swear
Oh Life, I swear
This will be my Last Apology

You are going to have a hard, hard life if you you have to learn every
life lesson first-hand. Everyone makes errors; and you should learn
from the mistakes of others. When treading into unknown territory, it
is safe to seek the guidance and advice of those who have traversed
the road before you.

How often do you seek advice?

When we are uncertain, we often find ourselves seeking the council of
friends and family regarding decisions that we need to make on our
own. When we lack confidence, we often ask questions that we already
know the answer to.

Be wary: Advice is not approval, and guidance is not permission.

Becareful of needing approval from others... and disguising your need
for validation as seeking advice. You do not need anyones approval to
be who you are, or become who you want to be. You do not need anyone
to validate your decisions, or justify your situation. All you do is
discover who you are, what you are supposed to be doing on this earth,
and as Natalie says, "simply doing it."

"I used to think freedom meant doing whatever you want. It means
knowing who you are, what you are supposed to be doing on this earth,
and then simply doing it."
--Natalie Goldberg
