from Culmination of Dream

I am the anticipation of my ancestor's aspiration
I am the indication of my grandmother's invocation saved from dares of
genegration
by the rare regulation
of prayers of preparation

I am the culmination of my ancestor's dream.

At some point in our lives, we must reconcile with the world. We must
realize that our breath is not our own in it piles the particles of
the sweat of the enslaved, the tears of many activists, the those
slain for our future. At some moment, we must realize that the breath
that tickles our tounge, the song that rests at our throat, the book
that ruminates in our dream is not our own, it's for the world.

Often, it is easier to encourage others to take risks, than it is to
take a leap. It is easier to see the stregnth in others, than it is to
see our own gifts . And we search for jobs, hobbies and people to
distract us from doing what we were put on Earth to do.

It is often said, if you think you are a writer, try to do something
else, anything else. And if there is nothing else that you can do...
then you must write.

Is there a song on your heart that you must sing? That song is not for
you. The melody of your rhythm may be the one thing between some soul
and suicide, some listening ear that you weren't aware heard you.

Do you have the gift of public speaking? Then you must speak. Your
voice is not for you. The power of your words, may be the one thing
between some spirit and giving up, some watching eyes that you weren't
aware saw you.

Are there books in your dreams that must be written? Then you must
write. Your words are not for you. The power of your narration, may be
the one thing between some loner and a community, letting someone know
that no matter how alone they feel, they are not alone.

Ultimately, you must be you. Not for you, but for the world. Not for
approval, but as a gift. Someone many notice who you are, who you
really are... and so relieved that they start becoming their true
self.

"There is no ancestor so powerful as one's earlier selves." --Lewis
Mumford
